Unit 60 — Going to a Movie

At the Movie Theater

We found out where and when the movie was showing.

We bought tickets at the box office...

...and some popcorn at the snack counter.

The ticket-taker tore our tickets and gave us back the stubs.

We went to our seats.

We watched previews of coming attractions.

Then we saw the main feature.

At the end, we watched the credits.

coming attractions = are movies that will soon be shown. — 即将上映的电影预告片。

the movie is showing = means "the movie is being shown." — 电影正在放映。

box office = is the place where tickets to movies are sold; it can also be called a "ticket window." — 卖票的地方，也叫 ticket window。

stub = is a small piece; a ticket stub is a piece torn off a ticket. — 撕下来的一小截票根。

preview = if you see a preview, you will see a small part of something you can see completely later. — 预告片。

main feature = is the movie you have come to see. — 正片。

credits = tell who worked on the movie. — 片尾字幕，列出参与制作人员名单。
