For Special Attention

phone = a short way of saying "telephone." — telephone 的简称。
receiver = the part of the telephone that you put near your ear and mouth. — 电话凑近耳朵和嘴的那个部分（听筒）。
push-button phones = most modern telephones; you dial by pushing buttons. — 大多数现代电话，按按钮拨号。
dial tone = a sound that tells you the phone is ready to use. If you pick up the receiver and don't hear one, the phone might be "dead" — not working. — 提示电话可以使用的声音。拿起听筒如果听不到拨号音，电话可能坏了。
