Using the ATM

Kate needing money
Kate needed money...
ATM machine
...so she went to an ATM in the store.
taking card from purse
She took her cash card out of her purse.
lining up magnetic strip
She lined up the magnetic strip properly...
inserting card
...and inserted the card into the slot on the ATM.
ATM screen asking PIN
A message on the screen asked for her PIN...
entering PIN
...so she entered her PIN by pressing keys on the keypad.
entering amount
Then she entered the amount of money she needed.
machine returns card
The machine returned her card...
getting money from ATM
...and gave her her money.

For Special Attention

ATM = an Automated Teller Machine; another name for it is "cash machine." — 自动柜员机，也叫 cash machine（取款机）。
cash = money in the form of notes and coins (not checks). — 纸币和硬币形式的钱（不是支票）。
PIN = a Personal Identification Number. — 个人识别密码。
enter = to type a number into a machine or write it on a form. — 在机器上输入数字，或在表格上写下数字。
insert into = "put something in"; you insert something into an opening (a hole, a slot, etc.). — 把某物放入开口处（洞、插口等）。
